Here's a bit more info about the commission process.

Size, Medium, and Pricing:  For canvas or 2D media (acrylic, watercolor, panels, ink), I can do custom sizes from 16x20 inches to 40x60 inches. If you know the destination of the artwork, I can work with you to measure your wall and create the best size to suit the space. Typically, I work in acrylic on canvas.  90% of the time I work with the standard sizes below because they are simpler to frame and gift. Here are my most common sizes with pricing:

16x20 - $1130 

20x30 - $2600

24x48 - $4000   

36x48 - $6000

40x60 - $8400

For Fish Mounts I work in acrylic on a fiberglass replica casting made from a real fish. I work with several taxidermists for the mount molds, mostly King Sailfish Mounts on the east coast of Florida. The selection of fresh and saltwater species is vast, and in addition to having many sizes to choose from, you can have your fish facing left or right. There are some species that I am able to offer a freestanding table mount for 360-degree display. The exact sizes are subject to availability of the mold, so I work in ranges, the most common below.

37 to 59 inches ($110/in) - $4070+

60+ inches ($125/in) - $7500+

Small turtle (26 inch) - $3495

Large turtle shell only (40x30) - $4350

Large green turtle full mount - $6995

Freestanding 360-degree display with glass top or stand - $9425+

Payment:  If you decide to go ahead with the commission, payment is simple.  It's just a $100 deposit to reserve a calendar slot (to be determined). When your scheduled time slot is near, I will be in contact to finalize details and collect the secondary deposit (equal to 50% of the agreed-upon commission rate). The remainder is due upon completion.  

Timing:  Timing to paint an original work is 30-60 days from the start of your scheduled time block.  If I anticipate it being longer than 30 days, I will tell you up front.  Let me know if you have a special event or date that you need it by!  ***paintings larger than 36x48 inches may have longer estimated times.

EXTRAS!

Accelerated Timing:  If you need something quicker, I do have options to accelerate the timeframe.  I recommend inviting your loved one to participate in the creation of the piece and placing your deposit now. Its a 20% premium for 15 day and a 40% premium  for 7 day.  ***paintings larger than 36x48 inches may have longer estimated times. Fish mounts require a longer timeframe due to their unique nature and casting process.

Framing:  2-D Commission prices include framing. I have three frames that I use on 95% of my work that go with nearly any coastal Florida style. You can see samples throughout my website. I also work with a frame shop in Bradenton that will custom-frame your commissioned piece. This is something we will address as part of the design process.

3-D fish mounts will be fitted with mounting hardware and ready to hang on your wall.

Time Lapse:  One unique extra I offer is to video the process of creating your painting in a time-lapse.  This can be a really fun way to gift the artwork in a memorable way.  The video starts with a blank canvas or mount, and as the work progresses, your artwork emerges and you have the original artwork queued up to gift.  Also, it can be fun to have this video on your phone to show guests who are curious about your artwork.  You can see clips from recent works in time lapse on my Instagram and Facebook pages. For $150 I will compile all of my segments of the time lapse videos and save as a movie in .MOV or .MP4 to a USB drive.
